Using a castor oil pack on your abdomen while you sleep has several potential benefits, particularly for digestion, detoxification, and hormone balance.

Here's why it's popular:

1. Supports Liver Detoxification 

  • Castor oil contains ricinoleic acid, which may support the lymphatic system and enhance the liver's natural detox process. 
  • Applying it over the liver area (right side of the abdomen) may help improve circulation and assist with toxin elimination. 

2. Aids Digestion & Relieves Constipation 

  • Castor oil is known for its gentle laxative effect, but topical application may help reduce bloating and promote regular bowel movements without causing urgency. 
  • Helps soothe inflammation in the gut and may aid in conditions like IBS or sluggish digestion.

How to Use a Castor Oil Pack While Sleeping 

1.  Soak a cloth (flannel or cotton) in castor oil. 

2.  Place it over your abdomen, preferably over the liver (right side) or lower abdomen for menstrual support. 

3.  Cover with plastic wrap to prevent stains. 

4.  Use a heating pad or hot water bottle for 30 minutes before bed, then leave the pack overnight. 

5.  Remove in the morning and cleanse the skin if needed.
