Slow Cooker Turkey Chili (High-Protein, Easy Weekday)

Ingredients:

  • 1lb ground turkey
  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can green chilis (4oz)
  • 2 cups crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cups water
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • .5 tsp cumin
  • sprinkle of cayenne if you like an extra 'kick'

In a pan over medium heat, brown your ground turkey (about 3-4 minutes).  Meanwhile, chop your onion.  Place all ingredients in your slow cooker and stir to combine.  Set on high for 4 hours.  Plate and serve with grated cheese or sour cream (optional).
